ALBANIA POLICE INJURED IN MOB LOOTING

After cleaning out state food warehouses, rioters in an eastern town looted a clothing warehouse, and several police officers were injured trying to turn back the crowd, an Albanian reporter said Wednesday.
Police firing into the air on Tuesday failed to prevent the rioters from plundering the clothing depot in Librazhd, a town of 5,000 about 60 miles east of the Albanian capital of Tirana, a Radio Tirana correspondent reported.
